About Role: 
As a Director of Technology, you will be responsible for the planning, organizing and executing IT functions. 

What You’ll Do:
  • Establishes the company’s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development.
  • Develops IT business plans and budget plans that support both the long-term and the short-term objectives of the company.
  • Conducts research and case studies on cutting-edge controlled environment agriculture technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
  • Creates plans and develops partnerships to implement new cutting-edge controlled agriculture technologies
  • Directs implementation and execution of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
  • Evaluates and implements IT processes, procedures, and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment.
  • Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Plans, develops, and implements AppHarvest’s internal technology processes and systems.
  • Develops/selects and conducts user training on an as-needed basis.
  • Develops and maintains company Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in computer science or relevant field; or eight to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related work experience.
  • Experience working with cutting edge indoor agriculture technology is a plus.

Travel:
Occasional local day travel may be necessary, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
