Engineer Technician I

· Create accurate production rates by developing/optimizing work flow (i.e., line lay-out, line balancing, equipment requirements, and assembly techniques) associated with the building of seasonal displays, product packing and repacking activities, and processing of returns. 
 · Create new, and maintain existing process documentation to include packaging work instructions and organization procedures 
 · To advise product developers over the contours and fragility of new products so that a qualitative optimum packaging and packing method is timely available at minimal total costs. 
 · To track down missing specification points and to consult interested disciplines so that a package is specified and developed which functions optimally in continuity in the entire process of production, packaging, storage and transport. 
 · To propagate throughout the company the importance of a good packing by raising awareness of the Packaging Philosophy so that packaging is considered an integral part of the product cycle, thereby contributing to the profitability of the product. 
 · To optimize existing packaging and packaging systems at users, so that their packaging processes are up-to-date, related to technology, legal requirements and costs. 
 · Participate in the introduction of new equipment and processes as required to minimize problems through the ITM and LCS processes 
 · Provide training and technical support as required to enhance the skills of other engineers, technicians and operators 
 · Be part of a quality culture of compliance and continuous improvement ensuring regulatory requirements are met in all areas of work 
 · Share and implement best practices across products and packaging sites 
 
 What we are looking for: 
 · Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Packaging Engineering or related major with, at a minimum, internship/co-op experience in a manufacturing setting 
 · Proven experience developing and evaluating production rates 
 · Proven ability to interact with customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. 
 · Proven ability to lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. 
 · Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. 
 · Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
