Operational Buyer
You are responsible for:
• Places orders with suppliers and monitors the outstanding order package in terms of delivery time, quality and price.
• Tracks order confirmation, monitors open order position, expedites if needed and keeps SAP updated
• Performs inventory analysis
• Make adjustments in case of changes
• Decides the priority in complain handling.
• Decides how to reach an agreement with the supplier in case of disruptions of the delivery
• Changes quantities within the framework of stock order levels and assignments by combining several orders for one supplier
• Chooses the right time to order
• Executes SCM master data set-up and maintenance
• Identifies material shortage risks and takes action to mitigate
• Manage return orders to suppliers
• Eliminate root causes of availability issues
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
• Knowledge of the organization that surrounds the production process.
• Negotiates compromises with supplier and discusses financial consequences with Purchasing.
• Knowledge on inventory management including safety stock management in relation to service levels
• Interprets order data and combines several orders for one supplier.
• Seeks alternatives within the set of preferred suppliers.
• Knows calculation and planning methods.
• Knows the technical aspects of the goods to be purchased; understands the technical requirements.
• Expedite and shortage mitigation with suppliers
• Knowledge on inventory management including safety stock management in relation to service levels
• 3-5 years’ related experience
