Laboratory Technician 1

Duration: 12 months- potential to convert into fulltime

Description:

This position in the Walpole Chromatography Workcenter is responsible for the assistance of manufacturing immunoassay components used in ADVIA Centaur systems diagnostic products. This position will be for a second shift schedule from 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Saturday-Wednesday. Initial training will occur during first shift hours. 


Responsibilities: 

In this position, the selected individual will be responsible for the following: 

Auditing records, preparation of buffers, chromatography columns, and systems for use in manufacturing processes 

Performing a variety of antibody purifications and/or antibody and antigen labeling reactions followed by purification in a GMP environment 

Provide GMP witnessing for the work of other team members, including the verification of legible manufacturing entries 

Calibrate manufacturing equipment as necessary 

Maintain accurate inventory by completing inventory management transactions in timely manner 

Common equipment involved in operations include pH and conductivity meters, electronic balances, micropipettes, spectrophotometers, vacuum and pump based filtration, incubation chambers, GE HealthCare purification platforms 

Occasional overtime and/or off-shift work may be required. 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: 

Bachelor Degree in Life Science, Chemistry, or related field of study 

Relevant Experience: 0 - 1yr 

Strong mathematical skills 

Exceptional attention to detail 

Legible handwriting 

Ability to manage multiple time dependent parallel operations 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: 

Previous chromatography or GMP environment experience preferred
