The Mechanical Overhead Contact System (OCS) Intern will provide support and assistance, throughout the entire project lifecycle, to the OCS Component Team Leader.
The Mechanical OCS Intern will play a vital role in the safe and timely completion of the Mechanical Component designs to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / TASKS
• Assists in the development of engineering documents and drawings for OCS systems
• Provide technical solutions to customers in a timely fashion
• Provides assistance in routine design, development, testing and modifications of current solutions
• Provides engineering support to the Construction Team during construction of the catenary system
• Interfaces with the Project Management team to prepare engineering submittals and work plans
• Interfaces with Procurement to develop material specifications for vendors and manufacturers
• Assist in recommending new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet project requirements and to ensure our continuous competiveness
• Routinely create Bill of Materials (BOM) for each piece of equipment required for the catenary system
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Working towards (or recently completed) a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge & Experience:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Solidworks
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD
• Proficient in MS Office
