Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Redwood City CA
 Duration: 6 months+

Cloud Infrastructure Administrator is a key contributor to future infrastructure operations. 
 This individual will provide both operational support for existing infrastructure and new technology implementation for future product research and development. 
 This person should have demonstrated experience with a broad range of technologies, especially in the areas of cloud computing (Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure). 
 The successful candidate will have a systematic approach to their work and will collaborate with key IT stakeholders, the IT Engineering and IT Infrastructure and Database Operations teams to design, implement, document, and support cloud-based solutions.
 
 Responsibilities: 
 • Configure, build and maintain a highly redundant and scalable cloud infrastructure.
 • Hands-on experience with Amazon AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, EBS, etc...)
• Architect, implement and maintain automation for management of the cloud infrastructure using technologies such as Chef, Ansible and Powershell
 • Harden, enhance, document, establish processes and improve the operability and supportability of our systems in the cloud
 • Experience with IaaS deployments, connectivity, network security, virtualization and compute
 • Significant experience supporting daily operations, such as provisioning, capacity management, performance monitoring, alerting, and network systems connectivity of Linux server environments used for product research and development
 • Domain knowledge to recommend and execute Linux server hardware and software configuration, installation, patching, integration, upgrades and performance tuning
 • Broad knowledge of Windows system administration practices and troubleshooting including but not limited to installation, deployment, security, maintenance, and backup of enterprise applications and services
 • Provide ongoing operational support and health maintenance for cloud infrastructure
 • Document infrastructure operational runbooks, work instructions, and checklists
 • Maintain infrastructure SLAs, implement monitoring, create standard operating procedure documentation and provide L1/L2 support to teams as part of the cloud delivery
 • Participate in design review discussions with other members of the IT Infrastructure Services team
 • Troubleshoot and resolve live production issues
 • Work with Management to establish and document controls and procedures
 • Proven analytical abilities, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
 
 QUALIFICATIONS
 • University Degree and 5+ years of relevant IT Infrastructure experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable – e.g. Master’s Degree and 2– 3 years of experience.
 • General experience in a wide variety of technical areas including, but not limited to Linux and Windows System Administration, scripting and automation, root cause analysis
 • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing AWS and/or Azure services
 • Must have automation mindset, and coding\scripting experience
 • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers as needed
 • Must be able to accurately document system changes and tasks – creating analysis documents, instruction sheets, and systems documentation for completed systems as appropriate
 • Must be able to adjust to constant business change, including new requirements and emerging technologies
 • Ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
 • Ability to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
 • Ability to work with little supervision and take ownership of assigned projects
