Job Description Overview
The specialist for content management and copy writing will perform non-strategic work with content, primarily working to accept, request, organize, systematize, and distribute content for the business and generate copy to populate various platforms as needed, including but not limited to: IQM, the Orbit magazine, event thought leadership opportunities, the new website, digital applications (Kaon), lead generation campaigns, event inquiries (bio for company), fliers, and more. This role will actively manage content within IQM and within Drupal CMS for the website, acting as a day-to-day owner of the copy available to our customers, partners and external audiences on the web. This role will compose text, organize, coordinate, and direct specifically assigned writing projects. Assignments will focus on preparation of literature that assists in the sales process or the care of customer post-sale.
Key responsibilities and essential functions
• Meet deadlines with accuracy of content and communicating fully on projects
• Be available during all designated work hours
• Prepare and finalize content from all regions globally to integrate with strategic communications initiatives
• Help manage global content needs and working with translations vendors
• Communicate with stakeholders professionally and promptly with exactness and diplomacy
• Assemble high volume content and keep highly organized
• Create systems with manager and handle updates for content management
• Coordinate to use existing templates and develop new templates alongside comms leader
• Plan, write, and maintain platforms E.G., website and IQM and general comms/branded content
• Research, collect source data, and interview appropriate personnel to compose text for literature and customer-facing content, which meets standards and procedures
• Support with NPI communications content by timely collaborating with NPI stakeholders
• Manage stakeholder input that varies widely—sometimes available in clear, concise, directive requests, and other times requiring direct interviewing of stakeholders to determine next steps
• Create and maintain content generation processes as needed to manage stakeholder requests
• Coordinate review of all assigned writing projects to ensure thorough/regular vetting and stakeholder input
• Determine expenses associated with all writing projects and document accordingly
• Provide input on other technical writing projects by critiquing, editing, and proofreading manuscripts prepared by others
• Support with internal newsletters and global content management
• Work in cooperation with graphics and print team to coordinate illustration, page production, and printing to ensure timely completion of projects where needed
Required Qualifications
1. Minimum 2-3 years of design and writing experience
2. Bachelor’s degree in digital content management, content strategy, journalism, technical communication, English, bio-medical engineering, science writing, or other related discipline is preferred but not required
3. Familiarity with conventions in form, structure, and notation and proven consistency
4. Proficiency with digital platforms and linking
5. Exceptional verbal, written, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills in a corporate environment
6. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
7. Wide degree of creativity
8. Ability to self-manage and prioritize
9. Highly motivated with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
10. Ability to communicate using English
Very Desired Qualifications
1. Familiar/working knowledge within graphic design programs like Adobe Photoshop for the purpose of in-house work (e.g., email banners, social media, PNG and photo cutious details)
2. Familiar with copy writing; website management (updated); graphic design, videography, and photography basics as they relate to content management and website maintenance
3. Very familiar with parameters around file sharing, file size, file type
4. Content management experience with Drupal 8 or similar robust CMS for web
5. Demonstrated ability to interface with senior technical stakeholders, from engineering managers to product company general managers, to lower stakeholders
6. Demonstrated experience in highly technical B2B environment with executive audience
7. Tech savvy
8. Familiar with WordPress, Drupal, or similar websites
