Job Description:
A Reliability Engineering Technician performs a variety of work in the design, testing and commercialization phases of a project. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills expected. Possess a high-level of self-motivation and ability to work on a team. Ability to effectively manage time, organize and prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments is necessary and a positive attitude.The responsibilities of a Reliability Technician includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Learn new instruments and processes to support reliability testing
Operate Integrated Reliability Growth (RGT) and Demonstration Testing (RDT) Systems
Maintain detailed records and logs of failures and changes observed during RGT and Characterization testing
Test prototype design changes for effectiveness (hardware, electrical, software)
Participate in Scrum (framework for project management)
Provide input in the design and assembly of reliability test fixtures
Support characterization testing activities as required
Assisting the Reliability Engineer in his/her tasks
Ensure supplies and tools for various testing are maintained and ordered
Maintain Inventory
Skills needed for being an effective Reliability Technician include, but are not limited to:
Attention to detail
Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems in a logical/methodical manner
Use basic hand tools and electrical equipment (screw drivers, hand drills, multi-meter, etc.)
Hands on approach to problem solving and test fixture assembly
Adapt to a changing work environment
Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)
Ability to expand knowledge in a technical or specialty area.
Ability to communicate in a professional and technical manner at a detailed level
Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team (Field Service, ME, EE)
Ability to react and adapt to changes in assignments and priorities
Have patience, good listener, easily approachable and maintain a positive attitude
