AV INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN
As an Audio-Visual Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of professional audio-visual systems and unified communications products deployed throughout conference rooms.
Primary responsibilities will include testing audio-visual products, building equipment racks, installing video projectors & flat panels, pulling and terminating low voltage cables, and performing regular maintenance and upkeep of existing systems. Candidate will need to be a self-starter, self-motivated, and be available to work outside of normal business hours as needed to complete a project.
As an Audio-Visual Integration Specialist working in the Product Development department, you will be working closely with product engineers in an R&D environment. You will help with defining product ideas and features and be involved with testing prototypes, evaluating new technologies, and help with troubleshooting and documentation. Product categories will vary from wireless video, video switching & extension, control & automation, audio, and solutions & services for the unified communications industry.
Qualified Candidates will have:
- 3-plus years of experience installing, configuring, and maintaining professional audio-visual equipment (such as video switchers and extenders, amplifiers, speakers, control systems, and microphones) from companies like Extron, QSC, AMX, Shure, Crestron, Biamp, etc.
- Associates level college degree in a technology related field
- Certifications from manufacturers (such as Extron or Crestron) and industry organizations (such as AVIXA, CTS-I preferred)
- Experience working with IT, networking products, and network topologies
- Experience installing and troubleshooting AV and IT related infrastructure (cabling, connectors, rack assemblies, etc.)
- Ability to read and comprehend AV system design diagrams, specifications and technical manuals
- Experience using AutoCAD and/ or Visio for creating AV system design diagrams
- Experience with tools (drills, reciprocating saws, etc.) required for cutting holes into walls or tables, mounting speakers, pulling cables, mounting flat panel displays, etc. needed to install an AV system.
- Ability to lift loads up to 50-pounds and work at various heights using ladders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate planning and organizing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specified due date
- Proficiency with personal computers and typical office programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to details and be highly organized
- Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment
