  • Our team is tasked with understanding the perceptions, needs and behaviors of our users and those of consumers more broadly in order to inform Twitter's marketing campaigns and strategies, position our product and feature launches for success and measure the impact of these efforts in the marketplace.

 What You'll Do
The Research Manager, Marketing Campaigns will be responsible for leading research about Twitter's marketing programs from end to end, including assessing the potential of broad marketing territories and strategies, testing creative executions prior to launch and understanding the impact of these programs on consumer perceptions and user behaviors. 
You have experience researching a wide channel mix including TV, digital display, video, OOH, events and social/influencer marketing. 
You will manage cutting-edge in-house research capabilities and bespoke primary research studies conducted with external vendors. 
You'll have the opportunity to help shape Twitter's public-facing messaging and communications as well as help marketers make smart decisions about channel and creative effectiveness. 
This role has the potential to support marketing initiatives in both the US and international markets. 
Who You Are • You're an experienced marketing researcher with expertise in a broad toolkit of research methods spanning qualitative, quantitative, social analytics and marketing effectiveness research. 
You are passionate about understanding how marketing communications are noticed, understood and acted on by consumers and have a strong interest in brand advertising, media and digital content. 
You have the professional curiosity to ask incisive questions, craft rigorous research plans and instruments, lead focused analyses, and influence stakeholders with compelling research reports and presentations. 
You are interested in participating in thought leadership studies to advance the science of consumer insights and marketing measurement at Twitter and the greater research industry. 
You thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment and can balance the demands of vendor management and the execution of hands-on research. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Design and deliver quantitative and qualitative research that directly supports the brand marketing, creative development and digital marketing teams 
  • Develop comprehensive measurement plans for marketing initiatives that reflect research support throughout the project lifecycle 
  • Leverage research learnings to uncover attractive audience targets, value propositions, key messages and acquisition channels 
  • Manage research vendors and conduct hands-on, primary research using in-house research tools 
  • Conduct social listening and conversational analyses where appropriate to supplement marketing research activities 
  • Persuade cross functional teams to take action on insights through effective communication and collaboration 
  • Partner with marketing analytics, campaign measurement, and business intelligence teams to synthesize multi-source data and tell a cohesive story 
  • Participate in thought leadership studies to advance the science of consumer insights and marketing measurement at Twitter and the greater research industry 
  • Collaborate and partner with a thriving team of researchers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to influence some of the biggest decisions in the marketing organization and the company
 
 
Skills: Requirements
  •  6-8 years conducting marketing, advertising or media research
  •  Experience analyzing end-to-end marketing campaigns from creative development to in-market measurement
  •  Expert at questionnaire design, survey programming and data analysis, particularly translating complex business questions into efficient and focused inquiries
  •  Ability to deliver insights that have direct impact on marketing programs and products
  •  Strong project management skills, including the ability to oversee third-party vendors and conduct hands-on research
  •  Skill at framing problems and accurately scoping research approaches
  •  Outstanding communication and presentation skills • Experience working at a consumer technology company, marketing research vendor or creative agency highly desirable
  •  Advanced degree desired; minimum of Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, marketing science, social science, advertising/media or a related field preferred
