Job Title – Client Platform Engineer - Mac Support
 
Duration: 6 months 

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Description –
The Client Platform Engineer is responsible for the technical direction of large projects involving a multi-tiered, highly available endpoint infrastructure that is geographically distributed, The Client Platform Engineer is involved in implementing, in varying capacities, a range of client tools around the globe. 
Additionally, the Client Platform Engineer is responsible for deploying and maintaining products that are necessary to support a growing global fleet of endpoints.
 
Role and Responsibilities:
Provide L2 expertise, troubleshooting, and resolution on escalated incidents and problems from Global IT Support, ensuring minimum MTTR, and providing problem analysis and issue resolution in a timely manner while meeting resolution SLAs
Participate in cross-functional projects in support of end-user productivity and end-user computing security
Provide timely and creative solutions to end-user computing issues of a complex nature to ensure highest productivity
Maintain endpoint patch management and respond to endpoint security compromises and zero-day attacks in a timely manner as applicable to the Mac environment
Respond to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem, troubleshoot as required, document/update existing documents/KB articles as necessary
Participate in standardization efforts to ensure IT CPE can take advantage of repeatable processes to support the environment
Manage and work on continuous improvement of the deployment, testing, maintenance, support, and upgrade processes of endpoint hardware and software, including operating systems and software updates
Participate in knowledge transfer with members within the team to elevate IT CPE skillset and with Global IT Support for cross-functional training on projects
Work on continued improvement and automation opportunities on IT CPE internal processes
Update any solution designs, technical documents, and diagrams of IT CPE systems for assigned projects
Follow and enforce all hardware and software standards for endpoints
Communicate effectively with management, peers, and customers, via all written and verbal communication channels and in face-to-face situations
Other duties as directed by Management

Experience and Skills:
Min 3 years’ experience managing Client Endpoints with deep troubleshooting skills in 1,000+ Global Mac environment
Great knowledge of Apple and Microsoft solutions
Familiar with Open Source tools for administration, profile management, and configuration
Knowledge of Security platforms highly desired
Familiar Configuration Management tools like Chef, Puppet and Salt and Git as Source Control
Working with Open Source tools for Management of Client Systems (Munki, Autopkg, Reposado and others)
Great problem-solving and superior customer service skills required
Experience and knowledge of networking systems and concepts required
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, being self-managed required
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills required
Experience with Change Control Process, Test Management and Documentation, Testing, Etc. required
Experience with process and procedure documentation required
Stays in touch with technology changes and our endpoint/end-user environment
