Duration: : : 3-6 Months contract with a possible hire (depending on performance)
Location: San Jose, CA 95002
Hours: 8:00-5:00 (Little Negotiable, also with the potential for lots of overtime during peak periods)
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for handling all incoming and outbound materials in a timely and efficient manner. This position will assist in the coordination of all material movement to meet QA, production, shipping and revenue goals. He/She will work closely with Planning and Purchasing to identify material expedites, discrepancies and shortage and assist the Operation group in meeting all corporate goals and objectives.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge/Educational Requirements:
• High school education is required, college degree preferred
• 1 – 3 years of experience in a materials / operations environment
2. Skills and Abilities:
• Broad knowledge shipping and receiving operations and procedures
• Hands on experience with computerized inventory control systems, knowledge of Great Plains would be a plus
• Must be detailed oriented and accurate
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
• Must be a team player and adaptable to a fast changing work environment
• Comfortable working in a high-growth, start-up environment
• Adapt to changing work load levels and be able to work overtime as required
• Individual must be motivated to work independently as well as with teams
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
• Good written, verbal and organizational skills
• PC skills including use of Windows Operating systems and MS office applications required
• Familiarity with Microsoft Access and SAP is a plus
3. Essential Functions:
• Receive, count and verify all incoming parcels, freight, etc.
• Maintain required documentation for all goods received
• Post inventory transactions and movement of inventory in computer system
• Assist in material returns to suppliers and MRB activities
• Prepare and package outgoing materials
• Utilize Fed X / UPS / DHL and also LTL/Freight companies to coordinate outgoing shipments
• Prepare all appropriate shipping documentation
• Operate mechanical equipment as required, i.e. forklift, pallet jacks, etc.
• Participate in cycle counting and physical inventories activities when necessary
• Set up ultrasound systems’ configuration
