- Design of sheet metal chassis/enclosures including internal structure/peripherals. - Develops and applies specialized knowledge within design and testing. - Knowledge of related industry considerations. - Demonstrates an understanding and ability in utilizing systems, tools and procedures to ensure robust designs and accurate test results. - Builds deeper understanding of processes, procedures, customers and organization. - Assists program or process development and implementation. - Coordinates activities and validation processes. - Takes responsibility for understanding requirements and executes within a "teaming" environment.
Provides constructive feedback on project plan including schedule, budget, product cost and Phase review process (PRP) Designs, documents and monitors the validation as well as qualification of components and assemblies with minimal supervision Proficient in the use of various engineering development tools Works with minimal supervision on efforts of moderate complexity involving mechanical development of components and subsystems of devices Works across technical disciplines Creates processes under moderate supervision Possesses advanced knowledge of relevant technology and engineering tools Begins to coach others
 
Requirements:
- Experience in Chassis design; 3-5+ years of relevant experience; Mechanical Design / Engineering degree is a bonus. - Mechanical aptitude for interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications. - Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing-driven design issues. - Thorough ability to read/understand complex drawings and 3D databases. - Ability to analyze options and make decisions for critical design features. - Experienced in using Pro-E CAD applications. - Working ability in reading and understanding technical data sheets. - Good communication skills.
 
Accountabilities
Responsible directly or indirectly for the below core activities: Designs, analyzes, documents and functionally validates mechanical components and assemblies Conducts and participates in engineering tests to validate the robustness and proper performance of new products Interfaces w/suppliers, electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, tooling engineering and other development groups to ensure the successful development and launch of new products Utilizes best-in-class tools to develop innovative solutions to highly complex problems Responsible for the mechanical detail design on assigned components Responsible for testing, analysis and debug on assigned mechanical prototypes Contributes to the successful management and development of mechanical tooling and first samples delivery Ensures that comprehensive qualification and subsequent tool revisions are completed Ensures deliverables are met per program schedules
