  • As a Technician in Cleaning Packaging Development you will be responsible for projects ranging across Home Care. Through collaboration with Scientists and suppliers, you will enable new product development launches across all of Clorox Cleaning brands to support business objectives This includes following and executing packaging test methods, packaging test coordination, and specification development to enable new packaging development, improvements and cost savings.Daily responsibilities include lab-testing packaging samples, recommending improved test methods, coordinating test samples, writing test reports, reviewing aspects of packaging graphics, data gathering and analysis for various products, specification work, coordinating testing with internal and external partners, and organizing and maintaining our packaging lab to ensure efficiency and safety. You will work with Scientists to provide reports, identify issues and recommend next steps based on experimentation. You will also have the opportunity take on non-project specific initiatives within the department to increase the knowledge base and functionality of the group as a whole. Examples include development and/or creation of testing equipment, materials, new method development and improved knowledge management.Key Responsibilities:
    • Safely design and complete assigned tasks, including testing of new packaging. Follow best practices as directed.
    • Utilize the in-house Packaging Lab areas for package performance testing.
    • Record, process, and compile data accurately to identify outliers, find trends, summarize results, and recommend next steps.
    • Work independently and with scientists to design optimal experiments.
    • Independently execute detailed tasks, operations, and procedures.
    • Execute both routine and newly-developed methods and procedures to obtain valid results.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers to provide basis for next steps.
    • Coordinate and prepare testing requirements with other functions: new test method development, internal and external test locations, suppliers, and other opportunities for packaging testing and analysis.
    • Ensure robustness of test methods and equipment and supplies are available and in proper working order for assigned projects and testing areas
  • Requirements:Desired:
    • Associates or Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or greater than 4 years of related industry experience.
    • Capable of demonstrating the following:
    • Technically savvy, ideally with experience in operating laboratory equipment.
    • Strong focus and problem solving skills.
    • Highly independent, excellent organization, prioritization and decision making skills
    • Push for results and desire to learn.
    • Familiarity with standard testing techniques.
    • Experience with Excel, including advanced applications, creating graphs and reports.
  • Ideal:

    • CPG laboratory experience
    • Packaging experience including ASTM, ISTA and/or other methodolgy
