Electronic Technician

Duration: :: 11-12 months to contract to Hire
Location: : Norcross, GA


The Electronic Technician within the Siemens – Smart Infrastructure - R&D organization performs design verification and reliability testing of products such as electronic circuit breakers, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and energy monitoring systems. The Electronic Technician will work under the guidance of senior engineers and senior engineering technicians to test electronics, electro/mechanical components, and specific firmware functions as well as produce prototypes and assist in customer support issues. The position is a full-time position as a contractor with the goal to convert to a permanent employee. 

Responsibilities: 
1. Provide test and fabrication support for electronic circuitry on development programs. 
2. Fabricate custom test fixtures - including some mechanical assembly which requires the use of basic mechanical tools (drill press, etc.) 
3. Basic troubleshooting of electronic circuits 
4. Create and solder samples 
5. Order and track prototype parts inventories. 
6. Travel to company facilities to support system-level testing. 
7. Setup test equipment and connect various test systems / computers 
8. Capture data using test equipment (oscilloscope, power meter, etc.) 
9. Record and analyze data (excel) 
10. Write test reports 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education: 
1. AS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology 
2. Capable of fabrication of analog and digital circuitry. 
3. Must be able to interpret schematics and follow test processes. 
4. Competent soldering skills 
5. Knowledge of AC electrical circuit wiring 
6. Excellent communication skills. 
7. Proficient computer skills 
8. Permission to work in the USA 
9. 3-5 yrs exp
