Title: Senior System Administrator
As part of System Engineering team, the Senior Systems Administrator will play a key role in ensuring uptime and scalability of the application and infrastructure.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to work on the System Engineering Teamto assist in maintaining and scaling the Linux based infrastructure our SaaS platform relies upon.
Responsibilities Include
· Activehands-on participant on the System Administration Operations team to build, deploy, and maintain the physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure underlying our SaaS offering
· Troubleshoot issues, coordinate maintenance efforts, evaluate new technologies, and continually iterate and improve on our existing infrastructure
· Produce and maintain detailed documentation and required updates as dictated by business needs and to the required team standards
· Monitor, administer, and troubleshoot storage environment, including virtual machine migrations, latency sensitive database LUNs, and lifecycle management of existing storage subsystems
· Drive and own projects to support and execute on team and company goals.
· Work in a fast paced, dynamic, and challenging environment that is constantly changing to meet Bronto’s business demands and need for scale
· Have an ability and willingness to offer strategic guidance, mentorship, collaboration and facilitate career growth amongst other System Administrators
· Participation in On-Call rotation is required
· Participation in local physical data center rotation is required
· Participation in infrequent off-hours maintenances required
Required Skills and Experience
· Proven skills in Linux administration, troubleshooting, and tuning a must
· Must possess a strong “team focus” with proven collaboration skills that foster an environment of learning and working together to get the job done
· In-depth understanding of virtualization, scalability, and security
· K of Xen based virtualization, containers, ZFS administration, and cloud architecture is a strong plus
· Experience configuring and troubleshooting LDAP, DNS, NFS, iSCSI, and other core Linux services required
· Self-motivated and possess well developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
· Shell scripting and some familiarity with Ruby or Python required
· Work experience at a cloud service provider and intimate knowledge of the complexities of administering and managing a cloud environment highly desirable (AWS/OCI/Azure)
· Experience with Puppet and Git a plus
· 5+ years in Linux System Administration experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment.
· 7+ years in Information Technology
· BS in Computer Science or related field
· Red Hat and Oracle certifications a plus
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
