Electrical System / Studies
• Load Flow Study (Motor Starting)
• Short Circuit Study
• Grounding / Lightning Study
• Relay Settings and Coordination
• Familiarity with Cable Sizing, Raceways
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Perform Overall Electrical System Review (including the Electrical Studies) for the Simple and Combined Cycle Power Plants.
2) Review Architect / Engineer drawings
3) Expert in Code Compliance (NEC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC)
4) Develop Engineering Specification for the above equipment, review vendor drawings, and manage the equipment interface requirements.
5) Evaluate competitive bids from suppliers to ensure they meet the requirements of the technical specification. .
6) Conduct design reviews and discuss any lessons learned with chosen equipment suppliers to ensure all requirements of the technical specifications are understood and will be met.
7) Coordinate with Architect/Engineers, partners, and Customers to support timely transmittal and understanding of supplier technical documents. Review and approve design documents submitted by suppliers.
8) Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for any or all of the above components and systems. Ensure all components are thoroughly tested and meet the performance and quality requirements established in the technical specification.
9) Support commissioning, and start-up activities for any or all of the above components and systems. Conduct readiness reviews, and participate in pre-commissioning activities with supplier Technical Field Assistants (TFAs).
