Accountant II

Position Summary:
 This position is responsible for providing financial and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting processes.  This position will also work closely with the Accounting Specialist, Accounts Receivable Supervisor and Accounts Payable Specialist.  
Duties and Responsibilities:
Finance/Accounting
  • Prepare accurate journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
  • Review journal entries and account reconciliations as prepared by other members of the Finance team.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts in EPICOR.
  • Prepare financial statements on a timely basis including variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts.
  • Manage daily cash application program in EPICOR and reconciliation of AR subsidiary ledger.
  • Oversee accounting for rental devices including reconciliation to the subsidiary ledger.
Administration/Management
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the Finance team.
  • Review financial results with department managers as assigned.
  • Prepare accurate and timely internal reports to monitor and enhance key performance metrics.
  • Responsible for annual 1099 reporting process.
Other
  • Analyze Company processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Attend HIPAA training and other training sessions as they arise.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Four year degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in accounting and two-years supervising direct reports.
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications and strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and ERP accounting software.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sense of urgency and attention to deadlines/timetables.
                                                                             
Physical Requirements of the Position:
 
Incumbent must be able to sit at computer desk in front of a PC Monitor for long periods of time. Position requires incumbent to us a PC, telephone, basic office equipment. Position requires ability to hear phone conversations and communicate clearly with all levels of internal and external customers.  Must have ability to problem solve, work independently and/or with a team.
