Job Definition
General Knowledge
Demonstrates working knowledge of electromechanical systems and practices
Understands proper usage of common hand tools used in electrical and mechanical assembly
Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly instructions and electronic wiring diagrams
Ability to diagnose and repair system level electromechanical issues using appropriate instruments and equipment
Building Prototypes
Tracks and maintains list of purchased materials
Expedites purchasing working with supply chain personnel
Organizes the storage and staging of the material in R&D
Builds pre-production prototype systems (SPECT / CT)
Follows assembly procedures and documents assembly nuances and variations
Manage prototypes
Maintains pre-production prototype systems by performing regular maintenance using established protocols and tools
Diagnose and repair problems using appropriate instruments
Tracking and documentation of revision of system components and prototype configurations
Required Experience
5 yrs experience as an electrical engineering technician
Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology (ABET accredited preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Office software
Ability to work in a team environment and able to manage multiple projects
Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills
Able to give attention to details and utilize time management techniques
Experience with root-cause analysis and failure analysis
Experience writing and running test protocols (doing final test of equipment before it is sent to customer)
Demonstrates working understanding of electronic and electromechanical systems.
Experience reading schematics, diagrams and layouts.
Soldering skills- surface mount / RoHS (3 recent years of experience)
Experience fabricating and modifying components, fixtures, and devices
Create simple electronic prototypes from a schematic
Demonstrates working understanding of a variety of laboratory test equipment.
Experience using lab test equipment- oscilloscopes, data loggers, power supplies DMM's
General & Soft Skills
Works with a moderate degree of supervision.
Excellent written English
Strong communication and documentation skills
Able to communicate openly and effectively with a diverse group of professionals
