Location: Eden Prairie, MN 55344-3712 [Candidates must be able to work onsite, with some remote opportunities] 
Must Haves: 
3+ years’ experience, adult learning theory experience, instructional design experience, knowledge of e-learning and in-classroom learning, be up-to-date on industry standards, a degree in Instructional Design is a plus.
 
Job Description:
This position is located onsite with remote opportunities. Hours: 8am-5pm - flexible 6 month contract with the possibility of extension but not guaranteed.
Responsibilities: 
Project Planning 1. Participate in Needs Analysis Process 
a. Question and converse about the business justification for training 
b. Discuss whether this course is part of a Certification track and the implications 
c. Question and converse about the expected business outcomes of this training (both performance and behavioral) and discuss possible ways to validate that those outcomes have been achieved through this learning intervention 
d. Question and converse about course consumption history and projected future audience size and their geographic locations 
e. Discuss whether this course is tied to an event (launch, Dell World, marketing efforts) and any other dependencies that may have implications on the development timeline 
f. Discuss the need for hands-on labs (physical or virtual) and/or other forms of learning re-enforcement, such as discussions, quizzes or interactions 
g. Discuss whether source material, hardware and software is currently available and accessible to the team h. Consider whether we have the necessary expertise to create the training and potential SMEs outside of DEES i. Discuss the target audience and the location of this course within a learning path. Identify a target audience representative that ID can interview during Audience Needs Analysis to assess the current role and responsibilities and any issues that they are facing with regard to competency 
j. Locate and review student/instructor/stakeholder feedback (if available). Identify training gaps and ways to make design changes to improve user experience and learning effectiveness 
k. Evaluate the contents of courses that precede and follow in the curriculum to properly scope the course 
2. Reviews 
a. Perform iterative reviews of content, labs and digital assets and provide feedback to improve the effectiveness of the learning experience 
b. Complete the Instructional Design review prior to course publishing to ensure quality assurance standards are achieved 
3. Mentoring/Tracking i. Mentor where identified needs exist ii. Track design/development gaps that need to be addressed 
 
Accountabilities:
Delivers high value professional and skill-based training Assesses applicability and value of course materials Instructs participants in classroom and/or group sessions Prepares curriculums including method, media and documentation to be presented Develops concise content, methods and materials for training staff Coordinates specific activities for team member training and development programs Uses needs assessment tools to determine effectiveness of proposed training programs Assists leadership in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives Works closely with leadership in the implementation of corporate policies related to organizational and team member development at the business unit or division level within a region Interfaces with functional management teams to assess training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs within a region Directs initiatives and programs to assist with organizational change management 
 
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements methods for evaluation of program effectiveness, evaluates the delivery of training and modifies program based on feedback Delivers standard or slightly modified training programs Delivery of moderate to complex hardware or software training material Provide solutions to wide range of difficult problems Independently determines & develops approach to solutions, under only very general direction Develops new training methods or processes, re-evaluates existing processes, acts to mentor subordinate team members May perform classroom training Provide guidance, leadership to less experienced trainers Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Materials, Operations, etc. to improve course effectiveness Lead program development teams as needed
