Completes the gathering, recording and maintaining engineering specific information. Completes the preparation of complex charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate various engineering procedures. Completes complex testing and troubleshooting in a variety of engineering tasks. Assembles complex prototypes and ensures proper interaction of components. Completes documents of complex internal engineering procedures via simple text, charts, graphs and diagrams. Completes complex engineering-related studies and reports to assist engineers in developing engineering systems improvements. Completes complex specification development or preparation. Assist with design, repair (includes reading / understanding schematic), develop test, run test and report on tests. Ability to work with TIA portal (other PLC programming platforms potentially acceptable as it demonstrates understanding and ability to program).
Details from Manager:
The hardware is electrical / electronic designs of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), specifically discrete input / output devices and technology modules. The candidate must have knowledge and experience testing and analyzing electronic circuits. The must be thorough and proficient, can work independently with little supervision.
Able to proficiently operate the typical electronic measurement and analysis lab equipment (for example oscilloscope, meters, analyzers, power supplies). The candidate will perform testing in a lab environment, software and hardware fault insertion testing, development and electrical noise testing and experiment, and possibly integration testing. Use and proficiency with Automation engineering system like Siemens TIA Portal is a plus.
This is a R&D facility and the need is for a test technician not a manufacturing tech, however, past experience and current proficiency with printed circuit board repair is required. The tech will document results, setup and perform test using electronic equipment, write technical reports and be proficient in technical environment to effectively communicate with the responsible engineer, especially if there are issues with the test setup or errors occur. Enter schematic (preferable with tools from Zuken, eg CR-8000 Design Gateway, or Mentor), maintain products for team, plan/prepare for builds, communication with partners/factory/vendors both locally and remote, review design documentation/user manual to provide constructive feedback. Attention to detail, accuracy in reporting, and focused on work tasks is expected.
Education requirements: AS Degree in Electronic Engineering or BS is Electrical /Electronics Engineering Technology
Experience: 5 or more years of demonstrated direct experience, more is a plus.
