Duration: 12 months with potential to extend or Convert
Location: West Palm Beach, FL 33401
This position requires working on train sets within the defined limits of the mechanical facility.
Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to all of the following:
• Adding Diesel Fuel to locomotives
• Adding Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to locomotives
• Adding sand to aid in traction adherence to locomotives
• Adding fresh water to locomotives and coaches
• Remove waste water from locomotives and coaches
• Washing exterior of train sets with automated carwash vehicle and manual as req’d
• Adding windshield washer fluid to locomotives
Follow all maintenance instructions (wherever available) to adhere to and maintain compliance
Responsible for keeping work areas clean and free of debris at all times
Must be able to perform all other functions as needed including forklift operation, daily cleaning operations, and other as needed
Verify that all defects, tasks, and / or incidents have been reported and documented in (CMMS) for compliance, issue tracking, and closure
Maintain compliance to all Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) related safety rules, laws, and regulations
Foster a work environment that drives a safety first zero harm culture (ZHC) and speak up when necessary as a stakeholder for shop and site safety for yourself and your coworkers
Interact with the leadership as needed on all site issues, systems, and related facility operations
Act as a mentor to provide on-the-job training as required for new hires
All other duties as assigned
Essential:
Desired prior experience within a railroad or other technical agency
Electrical or mechanical or equivalent work experience is desired
You may be required to work the off shift in this position
Prior experience with FRA is desired
