Sr. Category Mgr., Marketing & Sales

Experience:
7 -10 years of procurement experience within indirect categories.
5+ years demonstrated procurement leadership experience preferred within one or more marketing categories, including agencies, media, market research, coupons, print, consumer/shopper promotions, sales etc.; familiarity with business and contract law as applied to supplier relationships required;
Exposure to global sourcing is a plus.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree, Master’s Degree a plus business administration, finance, economics, or supply chain management preferred.
Computer Skills:
Standard computer skills; experience in spreadsheet, database and statistical analysis are necessary.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; formal presentations are required.
Special Skills: Strong negotiating skills; ability to multi-task, attention to detail, organized; exemplary customer service skills; judgment to handle confidential information and challenging business situations; ability to lead and influence others; effective and proven strategic planning, project management, problem solving, leadership and team building skills. Must have strong advanced Excel skills, database and project management skills.
Supervisory: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform different tasks and activities.
Travel: 12 or fewer trips a year.
Job Description:
This position is responsible for developing procurement programs and strategies for multiple categories in the Marketing and Sales space (which includes creative advertising services, media, graphic services, market research & data analytics, consumer/shopper promotions, marketing merchandising and consulting services), with a focus on balancing superior service to Marketing Communication & Design , Sales, Foodservice and Total Store Leadership clients with maximized value for the company of services purchased.
The manager will be responsible for developing and maturing Supplier relationships to insure targeted departmental and company objectives are met. Duties of the position will include frequent steering meetings to measure and discuss supplier performance relative to performance expectation; developing Continuous Improvement strategies for the responsible categories and directing resources relating to project management; executing strategies that will develop the supplier-Tyson relationship, while continuously fostering this model to support proactive technology and innovation ideas that will ensure the competitiveness of Tyson in the marketplace.
This position will also be responsible for measuring and reporting category savings on a quarterly basis.
This will include a savings analysis compared to established goals and objectives for the category.
This position will be responsible for monitoring commodity market activity and conditions to determine overall strategy to eliminate the cost impact to the Foods Company.
This position will require market forecasting for budgets and analyzing budget versus actual costs.
