Description:
Performs complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limits. Resolves complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. Updates project plans and purchasing systems; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases. Negotiates prices, terms and quality requirements; prepares requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply sources; evaluates market conditions. Performs value analysis to identify cost improvements. 
 Requires ability to read technical drawings. Candidates have to be familiar with purchases of machined parts (metal), ideally with experience in Power Generation business and/or Oil & Gas Industry. Tasks: 
 •Creates RFQ packages, including all drawings and specifications needed, and transmits them to the selected suppliers 
 •Works with internal engineering and QA departments to answer vendor queries, relating to drawing and specification questions that vendors need clarifying 
 •Negotiates prices, terms and conditions 
 •Drives supplier selection 
 •Places order in SAP 
 •Ensures on-time delivery 
 •Identifies and participates in the approval of new vendors where necessary
