| Job Summary: Mechanical Engineer – Band C - D
The candidate would be responsible for architecture, design, development, and verification of a wide array of custom industrial automation solutions. This position requires in depth knowledge of mechanical systems and machine design specific to industrial applications including robotics. Experience in mechanisms, structural design, component design, assembly design and robot design/ integration are necessary skills. Expert in several fabrication processes including machining, sheet metal forming, welding, casting and molding are required. Strong analytical skills and FEA experience. Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably NX. |
Major Responsibilities: | | Major Responsibilities:
Within a Concurrent Development Process (Product Life Cycle Process) the candidate will develop, integrate and verify the performance of high speed automated equipment.
Candidate shall manage the assigned design elements and or assemblies with emphasis on functional performance, total product cost, availability and reliability within the deadline. • Participate in the design, development and evaluation of mechanical systems in a concurrent development process. • Design machines with servo motors, gearboxes, belt drives, bearings, and ancillary control panels with lights and warning buzzers. • Write specifications and technical analysis reports necessary to study and produce concepts. • Perform design reviews with cross functional teams. • Perform conceptualization, layout, detailed design and assemblies in 3D NX. • Create Technical Data Package (TPD) for production of the designs. • Create test plan, perform tests and document test results. • Diagnose electro-mechanical equipment, determine root causes and corrective actions. |
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: | | Position Qualifications:
<p>Qualified candidates will demonstrate the following skills and experience;
•BS or higher in mechanical engineering from an accredited college/university with a minimum of 5 years relevant engineering experience or a minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience as specified here-in. • Experience or course work in the areas of machine design, machine part manufacture, troubleshooting, machine shop principles and machine repair practices. • Hands on experience with 3D CAD design systems (knowledge of NX is preferred) • Strong mechanical analytical skills and theoretical understanding of electro-mechanical systems • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong team player • Ability to travel up to 40% domestically and possibly 10% internationally.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with concurrent design process (DFA, DFM, FMEA) • Robot specification, design and integration • Experience with multi-cultural virtual engineering teams (development of sub systems in different countries). • Perform FEA and kinematic analysis.
