Intern Electrical / Harness Designer
Job Description
The Electrical Engineering Department is responsible for Light Rail and Heavy Rail engineering. Electrical Engineering department is neighboring with Mechanical Engineering department and both are reporting to the Head of Engineering.
This position will assist the Electrical engineering manager as assigned with, documentation, harness drawings, and components used in our rail manufacturing. The candidate will work closely with the electrical design department and will gain valuable insights in harness design, electrical design and production support.
Responsibilities:
• Assure the accuracy and completeness of all drawings, files, engineering records, prints, and tasks of assigned projects.
• Become proficient in the company’s software programs (Microsoft Office, JDE, K2, Microsoft Projects, Visio...) and the engineering software (Creo Elements Pro 5.0, AutoCad 2010).
• Assist with the development of engineering drawings, schedules, procedures, and projects as assigned.
• Maintain drafting standards in accordance with Siemens and industry standards.
• Maintain high standard of professionalism in attitude and communication with fellow employees, customers, and suppliers.
• CAD 3D modeling of components in locomotives, light rail or coach models
• Create and maintain electrical harness drawings used by production to manufacture cable harnesses.
Job Requirements
Required
• University Junior or Senior working towards a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or a graduate working on a Master’s Degree.
• Electrical Engineering knowledge (2nd or 3rd year preferred)
• Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Motivated to develop rail industry skills and knowledge.
• Able to clearly communicate issues, options, benefits, priorities, and recommendations to team members and/or management
• Advanced analytical reasoning skills. Capability of thinking through problems in a systematic and logical manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging work environment
• Highly motivated and self starter with a positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work independently and also contribute positively in a team working environment
• Adaptable to a variety of tasks and projects with attention to detail
• Enjoy working with people from various cultural backgrounds
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
