Here is a brief Job description:
The Gift Shop Manager leads all efforts of the gift shop. Duties include maintaining a clean and cheerful gift shop environment; ordering and stocking new inventory; maintaining accurate bookkeeping and accounting of inventory and sales transactions; maintaining an inventory tracking and sales system; provide store inventory controls; create and maintain attractive merchandise displays; scheduling, training, and supervising Gift Shop volunteers; and providing extraordinary customer service.
  • Complies with established hospital customer service standards by:
o    Utilizing innovative approaches to improve service delivery.
o    Maintaining a culture that promotes teamwork and values diversity.
o    Accepting personal responsibility and accountability for customer service excellence.
o    Creating an environment in which customers feel respected and diversity is valued.

o    Properly applying technical knowledge and skills.

o    Promptly solving problems and resolving complaints.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform all gift shop operations including:
o    Open and close shop
o    Handle sales
o    Process incoming phone orders
o    Train and supervise Gift Shop volunteers
o    Order and monitor inventory and keep sales items fresh and exciting
o    Maintain an inventory tracking and sales system
o    Provide store inventory controls
o    Create attractive merchandise displays and a bright, welcoming store atmosphere
o    Maintain accurate accounting and bookkeeping
o    Maintain gift shop profitability
