Graphic Designer

Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 6 Months

The Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGTD) team is seeking an exceptional Graphic Designer to join its fast-paced, high impact Marcom Team. The Graphic Designer is responsible for positively advancing  position with its stakeholders by driving company awareness, visibility, and brand recognition through his/her commitment to creative excellence. This multi-talented artist will take a hands-on role in the conception, direction, design, and development of creative deliverables.

• Become an expert in the brand guidelines. Assist with IGTD visual identity and brand guidelines implementation.
• Formulates concepts, layouts, and designs including details such as style, typeface, photography, graphics, animation, video, and sound
• Providing design, development, and production for creative materials, interacting with clients, and digital media projects
• Participate in client briefings to confirm objectives, project background, budget, presentation approach, and overall client expectations
• Attend creative production shoots and printing sessions as needed to ensure objectives are met
• Resolves design issues when present
• Project coordination and other functional duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree. Degrees in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or Digital Media a plus
• One to two years of experience in graphic design and layout, illustration, or commercial art
• Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a Graphic Design role, with hands-on experience in graphic design
• Exposure to agency relationships/management
• Ability to learn brand guidelines and implement them effectively in designs
• Superb aesthetic judgment
• Exceptional concept, layout, and design skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
• Comfort and experience working with corporate clients
• Demonstrable fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite, Web 2.0 tools, Microsoft Office, etc.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and collaboration skills
• Constructively manages projects under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Experience working with outside vendors (i.e. photography, copywriters, videographers, printers, etc.)

• Experience working in global, multi-functional teams or organizations preferred 
• Exposure to the medical industry, preferably medical devices is a plus 
• Experience interfacing with customers, executives, etc. is a plus 
• Experience developing motion graphics is a plus
