Systems Engineer - Mid Level (Mechanical Designer)

Major Responsibilities:
Completes the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software. Completes complex
material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up. Completes recommendations
for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of
products to system design.
Independently performs full range of standard work for the professional field. Refers complex, unusual
problems to others. Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills
in order to deal with most situations.
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful
completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully applies complex knowledge of
fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key
Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for
experience, where applicable.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
The successful candidate must have a proven track record in the mechanical engineering field, specifically with complex integrated systems. Typically, 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented below:
Minimum Technical Experience
Experience in the design of complex automation such as high speed sortation systems, order fulfillment machinery and conveyor systems. This experience must include concept level and detail level design of mechanisms, frames, sheet metal and structural elements.
Advanced level experience in the use of premium 3D CAD tools such as such as NX10, Pro-E, Solid Works etc. (Unigraphics NX proficiency is a plus)
Structural analysis experience (ANSYS 15)
Prime-mover selection experience
Creation of detailed, accurate technical data packages including schematics, assembly drawings and bills of material
Experience with generation and management of structured bills of materials (BOM) including proficiency in the use of enterprise business management tools such as SAP.
GD&T knowledge, ideally at the expert level
