As an Electrical Test Engineer at Aperia, you will play a large role in both design verification during new product development as well as sustaining testing with our current product lineup. This role will work closely with the System Test & Reliability Engineering Manager, other Test Engineers, and Design Engineers to conceive, implement, and report on testing.
This role should expect to split time between the lab and office, getting both hands-on fabrication of equipment and performing tests, but also analyzing and reporting on test results. Responsibilities:
Own electrical hardware system validation on new product
Maintain and improve controls for existing test equipment
Author test plans and oversee their execution, so the issues can be caught and fixed at early design stage to improve the overall product quality and meet aggressive schedule.
Advise Manufacturing on test strategies from Pilot through Production
Design and development of test equipment for digital and analog electronics for power electronics and microprocessor-based control systems.
Collaborate with other engineers in system bring-up, design verification, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and optimization to resolve the issues and improve system performance
BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant coursework or work experience.
Experience in testing of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry (signal conditioning, board-level power supplies.)
Experience in development of digital and analog interfaces for PC-based test systems, especially (Labview, Matlab, Python).
Experience guiding engineers towards DFT with respect to PCB layout, plane definition, and EMC optimization.
Proficiency with electrical test tools, both standard bench equipment and production level equipment.
Verification of embedded DSPs and FPGAs in real-time control applications.
Desirable Adjacent Skills:
Knowledge in basic control theory
Knowledge in automotive networking (e.g. CAN, LIN) standards.
Knowledge in power semiconductors and switched mode power conversion.
Experience with consumer product development processes for high volume product design, with focus on power integrity, signal integrity, and EMC/EMI/ESD
Knowledge in automotive environmental, reliability, and safety requirements.
