Job Description
We are searching for an intellectually curious & hands-on Mechanical Engineering Manager to drive the development of the Halo Tire Inflator, one of the trucking industry’s most innovative technologies. As Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented Engineers to deliver performance enhancements, new features, & cost reductions as Aperia scales its product offering.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead a team of outstanding engineers to deliver reliable, cost-effective products through the full product life-cycle
• Collaborate closely with Product Management & cross-functional teams to ensure your products meet the right balance of company & customer needs
• Get hands-on with your team as needed to help them solve difficult engineering problems
• Facilitate design reviews and manage design quality
• Ensure engineering work satisfies NPI/PLM requirements. This includes ensuring that product designs are suitably
documented and communicated, and that Engineering changes are built correctly in Arena PLM
• Manage resource planning for your team; identify gaps and create/implement plans to address those gaps
• Ensure projects are on time and within budget
• Proficient in Solidworks 2012 or later; strong understanding of GD&T & advanced modelling strategies
• Experience in Robust-Design practices (FMEA, DOE, etc)
• Experience building teams from scratch
• In-depth experience developing mechanical products utilized in challenging outdoor environments
• Direct experience taking at least 1 product through the product lifecycle, from concept to sustaining
• Proven track record of motivating and inspiring your team to achieve high performance in addressing
significant technical challenges
• Strong portfolio of personal engineering accomplishments that demonstrate your love of Engineering
• Proven ability in interdisciplinary leadership and collaboration in developing complex mechanical systems
• BSME or higher from an accredited engineering institution
