Big Data Architect

AnaVation is looking for a Big Data Architect to join an Enterprise Big Data project developing a Data Lake for our customer.
 
Responsibilities:
 

 Responsible for interacting with the customer and several development teams to architect Content solutions in Big Data application hosted on an AWS cloud.
 
 Qualifications:
 
 Required Skills:
·        2+ years of experience architecting big data solutions

·        3+ years working in a Hadoop ecosystem

·        Strong working knowledge of Spark

·        Strong working knowledge of Kafka

·        Strong working knowledge of a distributed search index such as Solr, or ElasticSearch

·        Strong working knowledge of architecting Apache Nifi for ETL processes

·        Strong working knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Accumulo

·        Experience shaping data and developing QFDs, (Query Focus Datasets), hosted on various technologies such as: HDFS, Accumulo, ElasticSearch, etc...

·        Experience working with an AWS Cloud

·        Experience working with the following AWS services: S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Must be a self-starter

·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline

·        Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Candidate must possess a Top Secret clearance.

Desired Skills:
·        Willingness and ability to prototype with the various develop teams as appropriate

·        AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional

·        Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
