Aircraft Tech Ops & Support Specialist - DPA Airport

Overview

The primary responsibility of this position will be to facilitate a great training experience for each student. This will be accomplished by facilitating each student’s access to all the resources and logistical capabilities of ATP to complete training on-time and on-budget.  The position requires a positive attitude, dedication to teamwork, excellent customer service and the right technical capabilities to ensure all resources are utilized efficiently and effectively. This includes limited line maintenance of aircraft, daily aircraft prep, and assisting ATP maintenance in an effort to increase aircraft readiness and availability.

Successful Tech Ops team members can look to advance their career by gaining the entry level A&P skills the aviation and airline industry demands.  Specifically at ATP, team members might seek advancement into one of our many maintenance centers around the country.  While gaining experience and ultimately an Inspection Authorization one might earn the opportunity to open a new maintenance base for ATP as we continue to grow our fleet of over 300 flight training aircraft and 42 flight training centers nationwide.

Minimum Qualifications

Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate
Knowledge and understanding of:
Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s)
Aircraft manufacturer manuals
FAA certification procedures
Possess adequate entry level maintenance tools
Proven organizational and time management skills
Proven strong verbal and written communication skills
 
Desired and Preferred Qualifications

Private Pilot Certificate or Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
FAA Inspection Authorization
Avionics troubleshooting experience (Garmin integrated avionics)
College coursework or degree
Customer service experience 
 
Responsibilities

Prepare aircraft for flights each morning (in cold weather operations starting / deicing)
Coordinate aircraft fueling and oil levels
Perform light aircraft maintenance ONLY at the direction of the Director of Maintenance
Works one on one with each training center student, proactively initiating twice weekly contact
Verifies student schedules are effectively and efficiently built
Administer FAA Knowledge Tests via CATS (Computer Assisted Testing Service)
Confirms Knowledge Tests, Evaluations, Solo Flights and Checkride milestones are on-track
Facilitates student introductions to other ATP departments in Training, Financing, Housing, etc. as needed or required
Records and updates student tracking system to reflect student success
Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting & completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries
Follow all policies and procedures
Keep a clean and orderly work environment
Perform job duties in a safe manner
Perform other duties as assigned

Monday thru Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
