Technical Publications Designer Job

Overview

ATP’s flight training enrollment is growing, and is seeking a Technical Publications Designer. The primary responsibility will be to work with both Marketing and Training Departments to facilitate technical publication revisions and FTMS / Whiteboard / Student Extranet content updates.

Qualifications

  • Aviation experience preferred
  • Private Pilot Certificate preferred
  • BS Degree in Aviation or Technical Writing preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
  • Intermediate skill level with Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on InDesign
  • Experience with Google Apps
  • Experience with version control (Git, SVN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop library of ATP training materials in collaboration with the training department
  • Apply and format changes to training materials on request
  • Follow and enforce a strict review process for revisions
  • Maintain versioning of publications; keep archive of previous revisions organized and readily accessible
  • Collaborate with graphics team on developing formatting standards; maintain the consistency of these standards throughout all materials
  • Adhere to branding guidelines
  • Proofread thoroughly, checking for both technical and grammatical errors
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks (revisions) and keep all team members aware of status
  • Complete tasks by assigned deadlines and proactively take corrective actions before tasks fall behind deadlines
  • Maintain familiarization with ATP training resources, policies, and procedures
