Packaging Operator

 We have a year-round, full-time position available in our Packaging team as we prepare to launch our first ever high speed canning line.  This position is responsible for contributing to the efficient operation of the bottling line, canning line and keg line to support the production of consistently high quality Belgian style beer. Applicants should enjoy physically demanding work and collaborating with co-workers to achieve a goal.  Candidates must have strong attention to detail as quality control checks and equipment monitoring are key aspects of the job.  Aptitude and interest in machine operations is desired. Experience on a canning line is a huge plus!  Flexibility, a sense of humor, and self-motivation to work incredibly hard every day is essential.  This position is Monday - Thursday, 10-hour days.  

Day-to-day tasks include:

 Bottling Line

  • Safely and efficiently depalletize glass, and occasionally hand load glass onto line.
  • Operate case erector, 4-pack erector, multi-packer, drop-packer, case sealer, case inspection, case printers and palletizer.
  • Perform half-hourly Dry-side QC checks, record finished pallet times and case totals.


Canning Line

  • Safely load pallets of cans into the depalletizer
  • Operate Paktech applicator, cartoner, tray-packer and case inspection system.
  • Perform half-hourly Dry-side QC checks, record finished pallet times and case totals.
  • Assist can line operator with other tasks as needed.


Keg Line

  • Operate the Comac Kegger through the use of the Comac HMI (Human Machine Interface) and operate the Wulftec pallet wrapper.
  • Safely load empty kegs onto the Comac.  Remove and label full kegs from the Comac (1/2bbls and 1/6 bbls).
  • Perform start up QC and hourly titration checks.
  • Record finished pallet times and keg totals.


Wild Bottle Line and Labeler

  • Cork, carefully load 375 ml bottles to crates, hand load glass onto conveyor. Load corks and hoods as needed.
  • 375mL Labeler:  load unlabeled bottles onto labeler. Pack labeled bottles into cases and pass them through the case sealer. Palletize sealed cases onto pallets.


Other Duties:

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move raw materials, packaging supplies and finished goods.
  • Constantly clean and organize work area.
  • Report any mechanical issues to your supervisor.
  • Maintain engagement while operating packaging equipment to ensure high quality of packaged beer.
  • Adhere to best manufacturing and food safety standards.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proficiency with verbal and written English is necessary
  • Experience in brewing, food service and/or physical work preferred.
