We are currently seeking an IT Manager to join our team in Beltsville, MD. This position provides a great opportunity for the right candidate to make a meaningful impact to Alertus, its customers, and to the mass emergency notification industry.
The Job:
- Provides all internal IT support to Alertus employees, troubleshoots and resolves user issues in a timely manner for minimal productivity disruption
- Responsible for internal corporate network, network security, data storage and backup procedures, disaster recovery, and information security
- Maintains all internal IT infrastructure (including telephony), productivity tools, and IT vendors
- Manages all internal IT assets, asset tracking, licenses, and IT inventory
- Sets up new hire perhipherals, installs hardware and peripheral components, loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems
- Trains new employees on how to login, setup their phones, connect to the printers and productivity tools as well as provides annual IT security training to all employees
- Builds, manages and maintains all demo rooms and demo kits
- Stays up to date on security risks and ensures corporate security
- Provides internal IT communications to keep employees up to date on the latest hacking styles, phishing, and malware scams
- Audits internal IT software and hardware to ensure business operation continuity and to discover and resolve issues before they are reported by employees
- Researches and makes recommendations for new hardware and software to support the organizational needs and presents to executive management
- Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating organizational requirements
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Occassional evening or weekend work for network updates, emergencies, etc. will be required as necessary
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent years of experience
- 4-10 years of experience within an IT environment of (500-1000 employees) where you have been part of the decision making process for reviewing IT solutions and vendors, maintaining a corporate network infrastructure, and providing either internal or external hands on technical related customer service
- Experience in the most current technologies
- Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus
- Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats
- Hands-on experience in all relevant coding languages (C#, HTML, Javascript)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively
- Highly detail-oriented, accurate and organized
- Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment
