Medical Assistant

Prime Health Network is looking for a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant.

2510 Township Line Rd., Havertown, PA

Summary of Duties:
  • Ensure that exam rooms are maintained at all times.  Includes the following:  
  • Check that exam rooms are properly stocked
  • Check all equipment to ensure it is proper working order
  • Report any broken equipment to Practice Manager
  • Maintain clinical supplies including checking expiration dates on supplies and equipment.
 
Facilitate Patient Service including the following:  
  • Assist patient with dressing and undressing.
  • Obtain patient vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature)
  • Obtain other clinical data as requested by Physician
  • Document properly in patient record (EMR)
  • Perform necessary clinical testing (lab, EKG, vision screen, etc.)
  • Administer injections/immunizations, refill prescriptions as requested by Physician. 
  • Assist Physician as needed including but not limited to assisting with patient review and call backs under direction of Physician.
  • Assists with the coordination of care and patient compliance as it pertains to the participation of various Quality Initiatives as adopted by PHN (i.e. Tandigm, Aledade ACO, Meaningful Use, Patient Centered Medical Home, and IBC- QIPS Program.)
  • Team care approach and effective communication skills to assist with patient care coordination, self-management support, and behavioral change skills.
  • Tracking of diagnostic, lab orders and referrals to specialists and community resources for completeness.  Outreach to facilities/specialists to obtain results or correspondences not received.
  • Contact Case Management when patient issues are identified
  • Dispose of infectious waste properly.
  • Answer telephone calls as assigned (prescription line, scheduling line, emergency line).
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments.
  • Maintain knowledge of managed care referral and pre-certification protocols in order to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist in training new staff as per Practice Manager
  • Comply with practice policies including, but not limited too, OSHA, HIPAA, Incident Reporting, Patient Discharge, Corrective Discipline
  • Fill in for various staff positions as needed
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Promote PMA to general public
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demand:
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend and stoop.  May be required to lift and assist patients.

Experience:
  • Experience in healthcare setting, preferably physician office experience (primary or specialty physician). 

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent to the completion of high school.
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. 
  • CPR Certification.
