Aktis is a London based start-up building tools to help corporate governance and compliance professionals. We started in 2016 by creating the most comprehensive bank corporate governance data platform and are working relentlessly on creating new products and services to turn Company Secretaries, supervisors and governance and compliance officers into rock stars. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic UI/UX Architect/Designer/Engineer to come on board and help us shape the future of compliance cloud applications.

As an UI/UX Architect/Designer/Engineer at Aktis, you are responsible for developing beautiful, easy-to-use, state-of-the-art and slick user interfaces. You are always ensuring high quality and customer satisfaction while being the pivotal point in a dynamic, international and stimulating fast-growing team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the corporate identity and product branding of Aktis. This role is reporting directly to the CTO.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Working with product owners to design and create beautiful and easy to use user interfaces for new and existing products.
  • Developing style guidelines and ensuring they are applied consistently to all Aktis software products.
  • Working with software developers to ensure a consistent high quality of user interfaces by communicating design and creating quality control mechanisms while maintaining the highest level of browser compatibility.
  • Working autonomously, taking over ownership of projects while working on multiple tasks in parallel.

What we’re looking for:
  • A passion for design, attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics
  • Deep experience in UI/UX design and knowledge of how UI/UX can support products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of web development and UI/UX design tools like Angular, HTML5, CSS, LESS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Semantic UI, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Wireframing
  • Experience in requirements gathering, pretotyping, prototyping, understanding data-driven workflows, and designing data-driven products
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience using project management tools such as Phabricator (or JIRA, or similar) 
  • Experience in working in a start-up
