AirDNA is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our profitable and fast growing company to help us build a best in class technology team and culture. This includes hiring more developers, mentoring the team, developing and maintaining the systems that support our industry leading SaaS applications, API platforms and data collection and processing systems, and connecting our product roadmap to our engineering sprints. We are deep into the categories of big data and fast data as we're developing systems that can process data across millions of properties and provide human real-time results. Our SaaS platform consists of a complex data ingest pipeline, Spark-based modeling, APIs, and a sophisticated React front-end. We are executing on several priorities at a breakneck pace, and we need a tech-focused engineering leader to orchestrate it all.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead, grow, and inspire the engineering team, while connecting the product roadmap to engineering sprints for data science, backend, and frontend development cycles
- Recruit, hire, grow, and retain top performing talent that is passionate about delivering high quality SaaS products
- Provide oversight, direction, and technical leadership for the overarching AirDNA technology stack including Python, Flask, Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Redshift, Spark/Databricks, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Google Cloud, CircleCI, Github, Sentry
- Drive and champion a culture of continuous learning to improve execution and remove roadblocks
- Build long term technical and team strategies that align with AirDNA’s strategic plan and influences the overall company direction
- Communicate problems and solutions, team challenges, and overall productivity of teams with executive leadership
- Set up team performance goals and deliver performance reviews for your team members
Your Background:
- 5+ years of engineering management experience in high-growth engineering organizations
- Experience building production-quality systems to work with large amounts of data,
- Experience developing data and analytics focused SaaS applications,
- Proven experience building (hiring, training), growing, inspiring and retaining a collaborative team of engineers
- Experience building and working in high-performance Agile software development teams
- Experience in building processes and organizational structures to support highly effective teams
- Strong ability to support and mentor team members to accomplish team goals
- Ability to take a leadership role in an Agile (Scrum) environment
- Our tech stack and toolset includes Python, Flask, Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Redshift, Spark/Databricks, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Google Cloud, CircleCI, Github, Sentry. Bonus points if you have experience with any of these or similar technologies.
