What we’re looking for…
Due to maternity leave, we are seeking two Interim Supply Contracts Managers to join our Procurement team, each for a period of up to 12 months, to start in November & December 2019.

These roles are key in governing our major material supply, third party manufacturing and indirect procurement contracts ensuring that these are market competitive and that agreed contractual service levels are met. Working closely with the Procurement Manager to manage a wide range of major packaging, raw material, service and indirect procurement contract categories, with a value in excess of £40 million for each role.

The Supply Contract Manager has regular interface with the Supply Chain Director, and other senior colleagues across the business as well as external supplier contact at Sales Director level.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • To contribute to the formulation and operation of Company Procurement Strategy.
  • Manage the entire Procurement process for all nominated areas of responsibility, including supplier selection, negotiation, evaluation, and contract recommendation, of material and service contracts, ensuring good quality, cost effective material and service supply.
  • Manage, develop, and nurture the performance of other Procurement team members 
  • Investigate and implement potential new sources of supply across all categories of procurement responsibility, evaluating supplier capability, auditing supplier facilities and systems.
  • Directly support the Procurement Manager in achieving specific budgetary targets set by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensuring that the Department operates within the Professional Code of Practice of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.
  • Contractual and budgetary responsibility for in excess of £40m of material and service spend covering packaging and raw material ingredients as well as third party manufacturing, company car, and communications requirements.
  • Contributing at an early stage to New Product Developments, ie. Production Activities and Marketing Plans, and co-ordination of material supply aspects through to implementation.
  • Responsibility for the life cycle management of a wide range of bespoke packaging designs and raw material ingredients, ensuring that the risk of obsolete and redundant materials is minimised.


To be considered for one of these key roles, you will be a fully qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and be educated to a degree level or with equivalent experience. The successful candidate will have acute commercial awareness with a sound knowledge of relevant commodity markets. The candidate will also be a qualified technical auditor. 

Extensive contract level experience is required for this role.
