FAST FACTS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
AdmitHub is seeking graduate students to focus on research and idea generation for a semester internship (with possibility to extend to full-year). Open to all graduate students who have an interest or experience in higher education, supporting first-generation and low-income college students, or behavioral science. This internship will allow students to participate in an innovation group within AdmitHub as they leverage research and current trends in higher education, artificial intelligence, adolescent communication habits, and behavioral science to develop best-practices for utilizing AI-powered chatbots to guide students to and through college.
ABOUT ADMITHUB
We bring the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to higher education through a chatbot-driven, text-messaging platform that guides students to and through college. Our bots help students find the answers they need, wherever they are, whenever they need—and offer colleges a way to give one-on-one support to vast numbers of students.
AdmitHub is both mission and margin driven. We’re committed to helping colleges operate more effectively and supporting students on the path to and through college. We also believe in rigorous independent research of our products, especially with respect to at-risk students. (See a recent study on our work with Georgia State at bit.ly/admithub2016rct.)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Interns will collaboratively gather, digest, and organize research on college student success and retention, identify areas for chatbot development, and work alongside AdmitHub team members to make their ideas a reality. Interns will also work directly with our chatbots to gain an understanding of how students interact with our bots and the performance of our existing products.
This internship provides experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment that is laser-focused on providing the best support possible to the students who need it most. We’re an education company using AI to achieve our mission, not an AI company focused on the education market. AdmitHub strives to bring joy both to users and team members. From Red Sox outings to happy hours, be part of a growing team that feels like a family!
THE NITTY GRITTY STUFF
Compensation is $18/hr. This position is not work-study eligible. Internship is available September 1, 2019 – December 1, 2019, with a possibility of extension into J-term and Spring semester. Interns will work 10-20 hours/week (if you’re interested in more, we’d love to talk to you!) at our office near the Downtown Crossing T-stop during traditional work hours, with flexibility on which days are spent in the office.
