Mechatronics Engineer

**NOTE: This position will be in Oakland, CA until December 31, 2019. We will be moving office locations to Newark, CA on January 1, 2020.

Role description:
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be tasked to develop, test and commission novel electro-mechanical systems for Holo’s additive manufacturing tools. You will be relied upon to contribute to architecture and design, as well as creating CAD models. You will be tasked with developing tests, optimizing control loops, participating in design reviews, supporting commissioning and process integration.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new solutions to complex manufacturing problems using mechanical and electronic processes and computer technology
  • Design, develop, maintain and manage high technology engineering systems for the automation
  • Apply advanced control systems
  • Develop test fixtures and procedures to measure sub-micron repeatability
  • Commission and debug new tools
  • Collaborate with a team of diverse engineers to design and optimize our additive manufacturing process

Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical approach to the design process
  • Mechatronics expert grounded in a deep understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical, sensing, actuating, control and systems engineering
  • Ability to create excellent documentation
  • Quick and intuitive decision maker  
  • Operate on a desire for excellence and a sense of ownership
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing needs

Bonus points:
  • Familiar with additive manufacturing
  • Experience in robotics and automation
