**NOTE: This position will be in Oakland, CA until December 31, 2019. We will be moving office locations to Newark, CA on January 1, 2020.
Role description:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible to architect and develop novel electro-mechanical systems from concept to production for Holo’s additive manufacturing tools. You will be relied upon to contribute to systems architecture and design, as well as creating CAD models, developing tests, conducting design reviews, supporting manufacturing, commissioning, and process integration.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design and realize a precision machine with submicron repeatability for millions of cycles
- Design sub-assemblies and components in CAD
- Develop and maintain excellent documentation
- Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with a team of diverse engineers to design and optimize our additive manufacturing process
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical approach to the design process, including mechanics, thermals and tolerance analysis
- Precision machine design expert grounded in a deep understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical and systems engineering
- Expert CAD user
- Create excellent documentation from concept to manufacturing package
- Quick and intuitive decision maker
- Operate on a desire for excellence and a sense of ownership

- Familiar with additive manufacturing
- Experience of designing and developing fluid handling systems
- Experience of architecting high throughput production lines
