Senior Embedded Software Engineer

**NOTE: This position will be in Oakland, CA until December 31, 2019. We will be moving office locations to Newark, CA on January 1, 2020.

Role description:

Your primary charter as our Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be to write applications to drive Holo’s hardware.  You will be relied upon to contribute to application architecture and design, as well as writing code, tests, conduct code reviews, support releases, and maintain applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design and implement embedded software applications from ideation to release that drive our custom hardware
  • Collaborate with a team of diverse engineers to design and optimize our manufacturing process
  • Write, test, and debug low-level code (from microcontrollers to embedded RTOS)
  • Develop and maintain excellent documentation
  • Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications:
  • Very comfortable working with embedded systems
  • C++ expert
  • Development in Windows environment
  • Experience with Git
  • Love to work in a collaborative environment
  • Quick and intuitive decision maker
  • Operate on a desire for excellence and a sense of ownership
  • Electronics, robotics, or automation background

Bonus points:
  • Familiar with additive manufacturing
  • Developed embedded systems for process control
  • Motion control experience
  • Experience with EtherCAT
  • Experience with TwinCAT
  • Experience with computer vision and image processing
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, iterative/agile environment
