We have five offices in Santa Barbara (CA), Davis (CA), Los Angeles (CA), San Diego (CA), and Minneapolis (MN). Acacia's mission is to provide college students a safe, supportive space in which they receive quality, long term and consistent mental health care that is highly accessible, affordable and culturally sensitive. We strive to provide holistic wellness services including yoga, mindfulness/meditation, educational workshops, social events, and even a therapy dog! We work closely with academic institutions to provide optimal mental health referrals and support hundreds of students each academic year. JOB SUMMARY
The Online Psychologist/Therapist is responsible for providing competent and effective mental health care for clients of Acacia’s Video Therapy program. This position will provide services via our telehealth platform and generate documentation in accordance with industry best practice, current legal and ethical standards, and in a manner that reflects the values and mission of Acacia.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with company security and confidentiality policies
Coordinate and/or assist in coordinating online therapy appointments
Providing individual, couples and/or group teletherapy via teletherapy software
Complete treatment and billing documentation via EHR/EMR in a standard consistent with documentation policies and industry best practices
Complete charge slips with appropriate diagnosis and CPT code daily
Message clients via HIPAA-compliant portal when indicated
Attending consultation and/or seminars about modality-specific skills
Respond to internal communication as needed
Maintain professional appearance of self and workspace seen by clients
Ensure security software is present (and updates installed regularly) on the device used to facilitate therapy
Maintain adequate internet speed to facilitate video/audio quality of sessions
Provide suggestions or feedback about how to improve services as appropriate
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minnesota licensed MFT, Social Worker, Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and teamwork mentality
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (but not deal breakers!):
Experience with teletherapy preferred
Insurance credentialing with Anthem, Aetna, Optum, Kaiser, or Medi-Cal preferred
Technological proficiency with teletherapy and EHR softwares
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Desirable character traits: outgoing, warm, organized, assertive, empathic, and detailed
