This job posting is for licensed Master’s Level therapists in California for our Acacia IV - Santa Barbara location. This posting is for Independent Contractors interested in working less than 25 clinical hours per week OR Commission# of sessions and Full-Time employees. See more details below.

Acacia's mission is to provide college students a safe, supportive space in which they receive quality, long term and consistent mental health care that is highly accessible, affordable and culturally sensitive. We strive to provide holistic wellness services including yoga, mindfulness/meditation, educational workshops, social events, and even a therapy dog! We work closely with academic institutions to provide optimal mental health referrals and support hundreds of students each academic year. This position is for those who are passionate about serving students, enjoy leadership roles and love working in a team-oriented environment.


Acacia is in search of California licensed psychologists and therapists. with strong clinical skills, an interdisciplinary approach to treatment, and a passion for serving students. We are looking for compassionate, devoted clinicians who are multiculturally competent and sensitive. All applicants must be willing to build up their caseload as a contractor for a short period of time.


Responsibilities for therapists include providing individual, couples and group therapy, completing treatment documentation, attending consultation seminars and staff meetings, and perhaps occasional outreach.

As a new employee, you will begin as a contracted therapist for the first few months at a competitive rate. After, the contracted period, assuming a goodness of fit, an employee position with benefits will become available

Some applicants may choose to work as an Independent Contractor for less than 25 clinical hours a week.  Independent Contractors enjoy flexibility within a team environment and are not required to attend staff meetings, seminars and Professional Group Consultations, but are welcome.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (but not deal breakers!):
  • Credentialed with Anthem Blue Cross and/or Aetna Insurance Companies
  • Experience working with college students
  • General knowledge of EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems

Starting Rate for Licensed Master's Level Clinician - LCSW, MFT: 
  • Hourly for Independent Contractor <25 clinical hours: $40 per clinical hour, $45 for intakes (all referrals provided)
  • Commission/# of Sessions per week >30 hours: $36 with benefits
  • 5 day a week (full time) salary starting at $59,628, 4 day a week (3/4 time) salary starting is $47,558
