Manager, Payer Contracts & Relationship Management

Alternative Behavior Strategies (ABS) is looking for a Manager, Payer Contracts and Relationship Management  to join our team at our Encino office.  The Manager, Payer Contracts and Relationship Management is an out-of-the-box, critical thinker, who is able to apply developed strategies consistently to daily operations. The Manager is required to oversee all aspects of ABS's Payer Contracting and Relationship Management process, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and implementing all phases of the contract. In addition, the position will be required to procure, build, nurture and maintain positive working relationships between ABS and all of its in and out of network payers.

What would you do?

  • Responsible for the development, performance and success of a cohesive unit of Payer Contracting and Development in order to meet the needs and success of ABS.
  • Assist the VP of Payer Contracting & Development with activities related to internal trainings, inclusive of fostering and maintaining good collaborative partnerships with internal ABS departments, payers and key officials. 
  • Ensure the successful implementation of new and renewed provider contracts, by leading and monitoring the execution of the process. 
  • Oversee the analysis; including but not limited to the monitoring of all deliverables for provider contracts, memorandums of understanding (MOU’s), letters of interest (LOI’s), and single case agreements (SCA’s). 
  • Oversight of contract clauses/addenda, reviews and negotiations of new contracts/amendments and other contracting related documents based on guidelines, parameters and standards, including leadership strategy discussions; implementation of contracts/amendments across ABS. 
  • Responsible for maintaining subject matter expertise of the operational and reporting requirements for all lines of business (LOB’s).
  • Take a proactive role in identifying recommending and applying business solutions that improve internal and cross-departmental processes. 
  • Represent the VP of Payer Contracts & Development on company programs and or projects. 
  • Engage and execute on deliverables in accordance with program and project timelines and have the leadership skills/qualities to act as the business owner of programs/projects initiated by leadership.

  • Demonstrate ability to research issues and bring about resolution either directly or with the assistance of others. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Must possess knowledge of all Contracting and Payer Relationship processes with the ability to cultivate current and potential relationships
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help ensure successful partnerships and department quality.
  • Must possess strong leadership qualities, trustworthiness and a teamwork mentality. 
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to communicate a fluid schedule, while always keeping ABS Contracting department goals in mind. 

This position will require occasional travel to our other California offices as well as our Utah and North Carolina office.
