Research Associate

The Drug Discovery team is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in cell and molecular biology. The successful candidate will join us at our research facility in Agoura Hills, CA and play an important role in drug target programs, working on cutting edge science in a dynamic, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Molecular cloning and DNA/RNA preparations
  • Mammalian cell culture maintenance and cell-based assays
  • Assist in the development of novel methods and new protocols
  • Design, implementation, documentation, analysis and presentation of critical experiments
  • Routine maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Development of new protocols
  • Remain current on the state of the immunotherapy field, and participate in external scientific meetings as necessary
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to implement novel laboratory processes and solve challenging technical problems
  • Adhere to good laboratory conduct, documentation practices and safety guidelines
  • Collaborate with others to select, profile and advance clinical candidates in a scientifically rigorous manner 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience OR
  • Master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with complex molecular biology, including vector development and library generation, and familiarity with modern molecular biology analysis software tools
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, assay cell lines, flow cytometry and cell sorting
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and flexible in job assignment
  • Ability to work collaboratively, and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team
