POSITION
540.co is looking for a motivated Java Developer to support decision-makers in the Pentagon by improving visibility to major weapons programs by delivering an impactful data analytics platform. We are looking for a startup-minded individual to work within a small Scrum team to maintain existing APIs, build new Back End capabilities, enforce data security, work with the development lead and other developers to engineer performant and maintainable solutions, and peer review code from other developers against industry standards. We are looking for someone that other team members will come to when they have a question, who could build Java/Spring capabilities on an island if needed (though you'll have a great team around you).
PROJECT
On this project, you will be supporting the implementation of an API-first data platform that collects DoD business data from major weapons programs to support Pentagon and Congressional reporting requirements. Our client wants to design and implement a system that unlocks all collected data for analysis through a variety of micro web apps (powered by reusable APIs) that can be built quickly and maintained/deployed easily. Additionally, a successful deployment requires building reporting workflows, enforcing data security and access, and generating a fresh, streamlined user experience (UX). Lastly, when governed data is coupled with 3rd-party contextual data sources, new data discovery and orchestration provides more value to the analyst community that we support.
